Still, an installation of paintings and 3D works in acrylic, wood and paper by Jost Münster.

Working with collaged forms, Münster strips away pictorial detail and removes the subject from its original context, creating an invented reality of flat simplified forms where each surface creates a different time, mood or pace. The work is both playful and unsettling. The installation draws the viewer into the space of the unexpected, constructing a reality which questions our very sense of what we think we see.

Jost Münster was born in Ulm and studied at the Stuttgart Academy of Fine Art. He completed his MA in Fine Art at Goldsmiths College in 2003, and his work is on display at the John Moores Painting Prize 2006 exhibition at the Walker Gallery, Liverpool until 16 November.
