"Absolute Zero is theoretically the lowest possible temperature, a point at which to create a scale of measurement."
Six London-based artists engaging with the reconfiguration of information, assume different zero points through their work, creating disrupted views of mass, scale, order and physicality.
Christopher Davies’ exploded image structures deconstruct colour, line, perspective and surface.Tobias Collier's geometrical drawings and objects contrast a banal simplicity with an abstract conception of the universe. Rose Eken’s video projection creates spatial and temporal loops from minutely reconstructed music scenes. In Andrew Ekins’ paintings, layers of pigment form geological landscapes, giving new value to objects. Darren O’Connor’s sculptures deal with lightness and sensation, linking materials with colour, image and touch. In Sean Michael's collage, images stripped of their origins are subjected to formal re-interpretation.
