Monika Bobinska presents WARM TIME MACHINE, a solo installation by Peter Lamb.

Warm Time Machine represents a journey into the artist's past. A towering 'figure' of the family - assembled through an awkward collision of plaster sculpture, painting, neon, photography, drawings and collage - becomes a portrait of the artist's attempt to connect with his past, and a metaphor for its frustrating impenetrability.

Ordinary family photographs become strange and enlarged, as masks, horns and expressive marks are superimposed onto their mundane surfaces.

Lamb's installation is charged with a personal symbolic language. It evokes a spiritual, extreme and almost shamanistic journey at the edges of reality.

Although the cut-and-paste and preservation/obliteration typical of Lamb's practice is in evidence in Warm Time Machine, the installation represents a departure both in terms of its formal complexity, and of the personal nature of its subject matter.

Peter Lamb completed his BA in Fine Art at Camberwell School of Art and Design. Solo exhibitions include Kontainer gallery, Los Angeles, and CTRL gallery in Houston, Texas.
